Registration for the
Fall 2023 Session
Parents and guardians of aspiring musicians are invited to register for the following:

*Please note that students can be enrolled concurrently in private lessons and either a COA class or Chamber Orchestra.

Register for COA Classes*
Currently, the COA offers six levels of classes!
Parents and guardians register their child based on the child's ability and experience.
Please note that all classes meet on Sundays during the Fall Session.

Level I
For students who have not played their instrument before.
Class time: 1:00-1:30

For students who know the basic functions of posture and bowing as well as their fingerings and notes.

Class time: 1:00-1:30

For students who have the ability to read and play note values, know the aspects of a scale, and can play along with peers.

Class time: 1:35-2:05

For students have advanced skills and knowledge of bowings, rhythms, and
ear training.

For students who can slur, play intervals, and have comprehension of dynamics.

For students who are familiar with major and minor scales and who can play in
half position.

Register for Chamber Orchestra
The COA Chamber Orchestra is for students who maintain the basic functions of playing with their peers and can fully read music. Students will learn how to follow a conductor.

Register for Private Lessons
Private lessons offer students an opportunity to work one-on-one with a private teacher.

When will the COA Classes and Chamber Orchestra meet?
The Fall Session will begin on
September 10, 2023 and conclude with COA class performances and a Chamber Orchestra concert on November 19, 2023.

What is the cost to enroll in the COA?*

A one-time $25 registration fee per student for Class Levels 1-6 and for Chamber Orchestra.

Class Levels 1-6: A $200 membership fee per student for each ten-week session. (This includes participation in small-group lessons taught by professional teachers and performance opportunities.)

Chamber Orchestra: A $225 membership fee per student for each ten-week session. (This includes participation in small-group lessons taught by professional teachers and performance opportunities.)

Private Lessons: $180 for each twelve-week session.

Where does the COA meet?
The COA meets at the Roland Dille Center for the Arts on the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus. Parking is available on the east side of the building.
