Registration for the
Fall 2024 Session

Parents and guardians of aspiring musicians are invited to register for the following:

*Please note that students can be enrolled concurrently in private lessons and either a CSA String Instrument Class, Small Ensembles, or Chamber Orchestra.

When will the CSA String Instrument Classes Small Ensembles, and the

Chamber Orchestras meet?

The Fall 2024 Session will begin on

September 8, 2024, and conclude with CSA class performances, small ensembles performances, and Chamber Orchestra concerts on December 8, 2024.

During the Fall Session, the CSA classes, Small Ensembles, and Chamber Orchestras will meet on the following Sundays:

​

  • September 8

  • September 15

  • September 22

  • September 29

  • October 6

  • October 20

  • October 27

  • November 3

  • November 10

  • November 17

  • November 24

  • December 8

​

Excluded dates: October 13, December 1

Below is the schedule for the

Fall 2024 Session. To register, click on the class level, small ensemble, or chamber orchestra:*

Classes for students who are in Level I:

Violin/Viola: 1:00-1:30

Cello/Bass: 1:00-1:30

*If you are unsure which class to register for, please email community.orchestra.academy@gmail.com to set up a meeting with an instructor.

Please note, there is no audition requirement to enroll and start classes. However, we will need a 2-3 minute recording so that we may accurately place new students. If you are unable to submit a recording, send an email and we will set up a short Zoom meeting.

Register for the CSA Small Ensembles

Small Ensembles consist of groups of two (duets), three (trios), or four (quartets) students. In Small Ensembles, there is one student per part.

Students possess an advanced level of playing with peers with a highly trained ear.

Register for the CSA Chamber Orchestras

The CSA Chamber Orchestras are for violin, viola, cello, and string bass students who maintain the basic functions of playing with their peers and can fully read music. Students will learn how to follow a conductor.

Register for CSA Private Lessons

Private lessons offer students an opportunity to work one-on-one with their own teacher.

 

In private lessons, students work on solos and specific playing techniques.

 

At the end of every session, students have the opportunity to perform in a recital in Fox Hall in the MSUM Roland Dille Center for the Arts.

Lesson times are scheduled by the student's teacher and parents/guardians.

What is the cost to enroll in the CSA?

  • Class Levels 1-2: A $240 membership fee per student for each twelve-week session. (This includes participation in small-group lessons taught by professional teachers and performance opportunities.)

  • Small Ensembles: A $240 membership fee per student for each twelve-week session. (This includes music and performance opportunities.)

  • Chamber Orchestra I and II: A $300 membership fee per student for each twelve-week session. (This includes music and performance opportunities.)​

  • Class Levels 1-2, Small Ensembles, and Chamber Orchestras: A one-time $25 registration fee per student.

  • Private Lessons: 

    • Twelve (12) 30-minute lessons: $240​

    • Twelve (12) 45-minute lessons: $360

Permission Slips and Waiver Forms

Both of the following forms need to be signed by the parents/guardians of each CSA student. Please turn in signed forms to your child(ren)'s teacher.

 

  • Please note that hard copies also are available at your child(ren)'s first lesson.

  • These forms need to be filled out one time only. 

Where does the CSA meet?

The CSA meets at the Roland Dille Center for the Arts on the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus. Parking is available on the east side of the building.
